About the course
Aim
On completion of the course, the participant should be able to describe and understand basic concepts, theories and perspectives in the field of organization and leadership. The participant should also be able to use these concepts, theories and perspectives in simple analyses of management processes. The student is also given the opportunity to reflect on his/her strengths and weaknesses.
Content
The course is based on different perspectives on leadership and organization in order to understand the conditions of leadership and organizations in different situations and contexts. The structural perspective addresses different organizational forms, strategies and the surrounding world. The HR perspective highlights leaders' belief in people where motivation and group dynamics are important aspects. The political perspective addresses issues such as power, competition and conflict. Culture inside and outside an organization is illuminated within the symbolic perspective. By integrating and shifting perspectives, it is possible to move away from simplistic models of leadership and analysis of organizations.
