About the course
Aim
The aim of the course is to give knowledge in stability analysis of nonlinear systems and analysis and design of multi-variable feedback control systems. The aim of the course is also give knowledge and skill in using modern software tools within these areas. After completing the course, the following learning objectives are expected to be achieved:
- Perform stability analysis of nonlinear feedback system.
- Analyze and develop multi-variable control system based on PID control.
- Develop control systems based on disturbance modelling, Kalman filters and LQG control.
Content
Nyquist curves and the Nyquist criterion.
State-space realization of nonlinear diffrential equations. Linearization. Small-gain theorem. Stability analysis of nonlinear systems. Linearization. Circle criteria. Describing functions.
Multi-variable feedback systems. Polers, zeros and system gain. Possibilities and limitations in feedback. RGA-analysis. Decoupling control. LQ control
