About the course
Aim
The aim of the course is that the students should develop their ability to formulate and solve problems using programming. After the course the student will be able to:
- construct programs in Python using both basic and more advanced data structures and control structures, including exception handling
- implement recursive algorithms in Python to process recursive data structures
- construct an interpreter for a basic programming language
- cooperate by following common working methods, communicating and creating a group contract
Content
TDDE24 is a continuation of TDDE23, and the course contents partly consist of further aspects of:
- concepts in programming
- the Python programming language and its constructs
- functional programming and higher order functions
- methods for testing and troubleshooting
In addition, the course also covers the following new areas:
- recursive data structures and recursive algorithms
- grammars and interpreters for simpler formal languages
- exception handling
