Aim

Efter avslutad kurs skall den studerande kunna:

använda översiktlig kunskap om väsentliga historiska sammanhang och historiens huvudlinjer, genom studium av politiska, kulturella, ekonomiska och sociala tillstånd och processer i Sverige, Norden, Europa och globalt.
använda elementär kunskap om grunderna i historisk metod och teori.
analytiskt och kritiskt ordna fakta till förklarande beskrivningar av historiska sammanhang.
demonstrera grundläggande medvetenhet om hur val av perspektiv utifrån klass, genus och mångfald påverkar förståelsen av det förflutna.
diskutera betydelsen av historiedidaktisk reflektion.
redogöra för historieämnets framväxt som skolämne och universitetsämne.
identifiera huvuddragen i styrdokumenten rörande skolämnet historia i grundskolans årskurs 7-9 samt i gymnasieskolan.

Content

Introduktion till historievetenskap Kursen ges en allmän orientering i olika historiesyner, historiska teorier och perspektiv såsom genus, klass och etnicitet där studenten läser, strukturerar, skriver och diskuterar det aktuella kunskapsstoffet. Vidare ges en översikt av historievetenskapliga forskningsmetoder. Inom momentet belyses även historievetenskapens framväxt och hur historien används. Antiken - medeltiden Studenten studerar och jämför händelser och samhällsutveckling med utgångspunkt från de tidiga kulturerna i medelhavsområdet, den tidiga medeltidens feodala och kristna samhällen, Europas kris samt framväxten av en byråkratisk furstemakt. Huvuddragen i de nordiska ländernas historia från äldsta tid behandlas med betoning på Sverige. Tidigmodern tid Studenten studerar, diskuterar och jämför händelser och samhällsutveckling, främst i ett europeiskt perspektiv, såsom framväxten av furstemakt, kolonialism, de kontinentala konflikterna, utvecklingen från feodalism till kapitalism samt ideologiska utvecklingslinjer. I kursen igår även att studenten studerar och skriver om Sverige ur ett nationellt och lokalt perspektiv. Det långa 1800-talet och 1900-talet Studenten studerar och skriver om händelser och samhällsutveckling, främst ur ett europeiskt perspektiv. Häri ingår det industriella genombrottet, demografins förändringar, demokratiseringsprocesser, liberalism, nationalism, fascism och socialism, 1900-talets väpnade konflikter, det kalla kriget, kapprustning och fredssträvanden samt koloniernas frigörelse. Ämnesdidaktik Parallellt med det ämnesteoretiska epokvisa kursmomentet genomförs en serie didaktiska seminarier kring förutsättningar för historieundervisning i grundskolans årskurs 7-9 och i gymnasieskolan där studenten studerar och diskuterar styrdokument, elevers och lärares relation till historia, historieämnets utveckling samt källmaterial och läromedel.
