About the course

Aim

Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:

tillämpa det biopsykosociala synsättet på olika funktionshinder
diskutera och reflektera kring centrala begrepp och etiska principer inom området funktionsnedsättning och samhälle
diskutera, integrera och kritiskt granska forskning inom området funktionsnedsättning och samhälle
föreslå lämpliga interventioner och prevention för olika kliniska grupper
tillämpa kvantitativa och kvalitativa analyser och sammanställa dessa
planera, genomföra och presentera en mindre empirisk studie inom ett för ämnet funktionsnedsättning och samhälle relevant delområde
redogöra för och kritiskt granska egna och andras studier

Content

Kursen är uppdelad i fyra delkurser:

Horisontell integration, 7,5 hp

Inom ämnet Funktionsnedsättning och samhälle tillämpas både horisontell och vertikal integration. I denna delkurs undersöks den horisontella ansatsen genom generalisering av forskningsresultat från en kontext till en annan, t.ex. från en funktionsnedsättning till en annan och precisering av under vilka förhållanden t.ex. samband gäller och när de inte gäller. I delkursen ingår även litteratursökning och granskning av forskningsstudier inom området.

Vertikal integration, 7,5 hp

I denna delkurs undersöks och tillämpas det biopsykosociala synsättet på funktionshinder genom sammanlänkning av kunskap över olika nivåer av verkligheten främst social, psykologisk och biologisk nivå, för olika funktionsnedsättningar och hinder. Mekanismer på de olika nivåerna beskrivs och undersöks för att utröna hur dessa leder till konsekvenser på övriga nivåer samt hur de olika nivåerna samspelar med varandra. I delkursen behandlas också etiska överväganden kopplat till forskning inom funktionsnedsättning och samhälle.

Vetenskaplig metod, 7,5 hp

I delkursen behandlas vetenskapliga metoder och insamlingstekniker såsom enkäter, observationer, experiment och intervjuer. I delkursen behandlas grundläggande kvalitativa analysmetoder med fokus på innehållsanalys. Vidare behandlas kvantitativa analysmetoder och grundläggande statistik, inklusive mätning, skalnivåer, reliabilitet, validitet, deskriptiv statistik och grundläggande inferensstatistik (t-test och korrelation).

Fördjupningsarbete i funktionsnedsättning och samhälle, 7,5 hp

I denna delkurs tillämpas och fördjupas kunskaper och färdigheter från tidigare delkurser genom planering, genomförande och rapportering av ett empiriskt arbete. Inom ramen för delkursen behandlas även former för skriftlig såväl som muntlig vetenskaplig rapportering och opponering.
