About the course

Aim

After passing the course, the student should be able to

  • account for and use basic relations for linear direct current circuits, as well as be able to simulate, build and measure such circuits.
  • account for and use basic relations for linear alternating current circuits, as well as be able to simulate, build and measure such circuits.
  • dimension, simulate, build, with measurements verify, an active filter based on operational amplifiers.
  • use transistors to build simple analog and digital circuits, and verify their functionality with measurements.

Content

  • Direct current: Basic laws and relations. Voltage, current, resistance. Power.
  • Alternating current: The jω-method. Capacitance, inductance. Basics of filter theory.
  • Active filters: Operational amplifiers. Logarithmic amplification measures.
  • Elektronics: Diodes. Transistors as amplificating elements and as switches. Simple models for those usecases.
