About the course
Aim
This course deals with advanced Operations Management issues in different areas such as planning, scheduling and sequencing, stochastic inventory systems, queueing systems, supply chain contracts, supply chain network, remanufacturing. The course has a strong focus on quantitative models and operations analytics.
The student is expected to:
- Obtain knowledge of advanced operations management models for different types of manufacturing and supply chains operations
- Apply the quantitative models to deal with complex manufacturing and supply chains problems at different hierarchical levels and with different operations contexts
- Illustrate skills in designing and improving operations in manufacturing and supply chains by analysing the modelling results, both on the short- and long-term aspects
Content
Supply Chain planning: Modelling and systems.
Hierarchical Production Plannning: Aggregation and disaggregation. Hierarchically linked planning and control. Applications.
Intergrated Planning and Scheduling: Advanced cyclic scheduling. Sequencing in complex systems.
Queueing Theory: Modelling and applications.
Advanced Inventory Control: Modelling and systems.
Remanufacturing: Modelling and applications.
