    About the course

    Aim

After the course the student shall be able to:

    • Define 3D objects and perform various transformations on them, including coordinate system transformations.
    • Develop matrices for parallel and perspective projection, apply them, and clip parts of the projected object that lie outside the view window.
    • Explain and apply different lighting models and shading methods to calculate light intensity during rendering.
    • Implement custom source code solutions for real-world problems within the field.
    • Describe how AI is used to generate input data for the computer graphics pipeline, in rendering and in post-processing.
    • Reflect on the energy consumption aspects of graphics rendering with and without AI.

    Content

Define 3D objects using triangles, 2D and 3D transformations, coordinate system transformations, rendering, parallel and perspective projection, clipping of projected objects outside the view window, hidden surfaces, local lighting models, various shading methods, basic graphics programming, use of AI in computer graphics, and energy consumption aspects of rendering.
