About the course
Aim
To give a theoretical and practical base for construction of digital system. After the course the student should be able to:
- Use different number systems and simplify logic expression using Boolean algebra
- Design and analyze combinational circuits
- Design and analyze sequential circuits
- Design basic blocks of computing and understand building blocks of microprocessors
- Design, simulate, and synthesize digital systems using hardware description languages (HDL)
- Design and implement digital systems on field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA)
Content
Number systems, basic gates, Boolean algebra, combinational logic design, Karnaughdiagram, flipflops, Moore state machines, Mealy state machines, sequential logic design, binary arithmetic circuits, memories, microprocessor architecture, CMOS circuits for basic gates, System Verilog HDL, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA).
