About the course
Aim
After completing the course, the student should:
- be able to explain the impact of the different logistics flows on the construction process duing different phases of a construction project
- be able to account for and explain how logistics affect different actors and their inter-organizational relationships in the construction value chain
- be able to map and analyze where, when and how logistics affect climate and business benefits in the construction process
- be able to explain how different production processes, platforms and industrialization affect logistics arrangements in the construction value chain
Content
The aim of the course is to give a theoretical orientation about logistics in the construction value chain and the supply of resources (materials, machines and personnel) to the construction project. The course is based on the construction process and highlights the role and impact of logistics from design, engineering, planning, production to delivery. The focus of the course is how to establish efficient, sustainable, and secure temporary logistics systems in the construction value chain.
- Introduction to the construction value chain: the logistics actors and their inter-organizational relations.
- How to build the temporary factory in collaboration
- Modularization, platforms and industrialization of logistics in the construction value chain
- Strategies for construction logistics and industrialized logistics and production processes
- Sustainable logistics and producer responsibility in the construction value chain
- Examples of tools and working methods for overviewing the value chain
