About the course
Aim
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- describe the properties and areas of use of the most common construction materials.
- dimension simple constructions using tables, formula collections and manuals.
- perform simpler calculation in breaking and service limit states according to Eurocode.
- use technical terms, symbols and conventions adequately.
- show understanding of analysis and solutions of simpler construction tasks.
- demonstrate understanding of the function, mode of action and validity of composite constructions.
Content
The material is steel. Calculations in ultimate limit state: Dimensioning for torque, transverse force and normal force as well as dimensioning of welding and screw joints. Calculations in service limit state: Deformation calculation. Detailed design and construction instructions for steel structures. Steel rust and fire protection.
