About the course
Aim
The aim is to provide basic knowledge about theoretical and practical aspects of cell biology and microbiology. Having successfully passed the course, the student will be able to:
- explain the structure and function of organelles and other structures of the eukaryotic cell.
- explain and discuss the relevance of microbial physiology and metabolism in various biotechnology field.
- perform basic laboratory work
Content
The course covers the structure and function of procaryotic and eucaryotic cells, e.g. cellmembranes, organelles, metabolism, and cellular communication. Microbial growth and metabolism are studied along with microbial processes.
