About the course
Aim
This course offer a deeper study in programming, especially imperative and object-oriented programming in the programming language C++, and also knowledge about frequently used data structures and algorithms. Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
- Design imperative and object-oriented programs and implement them in the programming language C++.
- Utilize object-oriented program development methodology.
- Analyze complexity of and use frequently used data structures and algorithms.
Content
Students gain skill in C++ programming. The course covers imperative basics followed by object oriented mindset as well as language construct to support that. Contents:
- Imperative programming in C++ (data types, variablestions, expressions, statements, functions)
- Test driven development (TDD)
- Object oriented C++ (classes, special member functions, derived classes, polymorphism, dynamic type conversion).
- Program design (object-oriented analysis, design and coding)
- Use of the C++ standard library (input and output, character and string handling, containers)
- Use of exteranl program library
- Program environment and tools (compiler, version handling, build tool)
- Data structures and algorithms (complexity analysis and data structures for efficient algorithms regarding insertion, removal, seaching and sorting)
