    About the course

    Aim

This course aims to provide basic knowledge in Python programming and to prepare for further university studies in the area. It is designed for beginners with no previous programming experience in any language. It is also suitable for students with some programming experience because, in addition to treating basic concepts, it provides opportunities for practical application.

Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:

    • Explain the basic syntax, such as variables, data types, and operators.
    • Write programs that use control flow (if statements, loops).
    • Write and use functions and modules.
    • Explain scope and visibility of variables and methods.
    • Write programs that use data structures, for example lists, tuples, and dictionaries.
    • Use file input/output: Read and write to files.
    • Perform testing, debugging, correction of code, and exception handling.
    • Explain basic principles of object-oriented programming and write programs that use classes and objects.

    Content

Variables, data types, operators. Input/output of data. Control flow (if statements, exception handling, loops). Functions and modules. Data structures (lists, dictionaries) and file handling. Classes and objects in object-oriented programming. Address problems in modern application areas, such as machine learning, using Python.
