About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna
- redogöra för vad matematik är i förskoleklass och de tidiga skolåren (F-3)
- redogöra för hur elever utvecklar och förstår matematiska begrepp och samband inom matematiken
- resonera kring olika didaktiska förhållningssätt i relation till matematikundervisning i förskoleklass och de tidiga skolåren (F-3)
- planera och motivera undervisning utifrån innehåll, undervisningsmaterial och undervisningsformer i relation till grundskolans styrdokument
- kartlägga, analysera och bedöma elevers matematiska kunskaper och förmågor i matematik
- utifrån kartläggning och ett ämnesdidaktiskt perspektiv, kunna planera, genomföra, följa upp och utvärdera matematikundervisning i förskoleklass och de tidiga skolåren (F-3)
- resonera kring planering, genomförande och utvärdering av undervisning i relation till elevers skilda förutsättningar.
Content
Kursen fokuserar lärande och undervisning i grundläggande matematik för yngre elever i relation till det centrala innehållet i matematik för förskoleklassen och de tidiga skolåren (F-3). I kursen behandlas taluppfattning och tals användning, aritmetik, algebra, geometri, sannolikhet och statistik, samband och förändring samt problemlösning. Detta görs med utgångspunkt i ämnesdidaktisk forskning.
Ett centralt tema i kursen är elevers möten med matematik. Detta omfattar teorier om elevers begreppsutveckling inom exempelvis taluppfattning och tals användning, matematiska samtal samt hur elevers lärande i matematik tar sig uttryck. Vidare fokuseras planering, genomförande och utvärdering av matematikundervisning i förskoleklass och de tidiga skolåren. Kursen fokuserar också kartläggning, analys och bedömning av elevers kunskaper och förmågor i matematik i relation till grundskolans styrdokument. I kursen uppmärksammas också elevers skilda förutsättningar och mångfaldsaspekter kopplat till lärande och undervisning i matematik.
