About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs skall den studerande kunna
- redogöra för svenska språkets struktur på olika nivåer genom användning av relevanta språkvetenskapliga begrepp
- diskutera och tillämpa normer och regler för skriven svenska
- redogöra för och resonera om svenska språkets historiska utveckling
- redogöra för och resonera om språkförhållanden i Sverige och Norden avseende språklagstiftning, minoritetsspråk och grannspråk
- redogöra för och resonera om språklig variation i relation till faktorer som jämställdhet, genus, klass och etnicitet
- redogöra för i huvudsak den västerländska litteraturens utveckling från äldsta tid till idag
- utifrån olika perspektiv analysera och tolka litterära texter från skilda tider och i olika genrer
- redogöra för och använda grundläggande litteraturteoretiska begrepp och perspektiv
- diskutera hur språk- och litteraturvetenskapliga kunskaper kan tillämpas i undervisning.
Content
Kursen innehåller grundläggande studier av svenska språkets grammatik från morfem- till textnivå. Språkliga strukturer på dessa nivåer analyseras och beskrivs. I relation till detta diskuteras normer för talad och skriven svenska. Dessutom behandlas hur grammatiska kunskaper kan tillämpas i undervisning. Svenska språkets historia studeras, liksom språksociologiska frågor. Språklig variation och förändring diskuteras och problematiseras i förhållande till sociala, ekonomiska och geografiska faktorer. Dessutom studeras språkförhållanden i Sverige och övriga Norden. I kursen behandlas hur kunskaper om språklig variation och förändring kan tillämpas i undervisning. Grundläggande litteraturteoretiska begrepp och perspektiv studeras liksom de viktigaste perioderna, strömningarna, skolbildningarna och genrerna i huvudsakligen den västerländska litteraturhistorien från äldsta tid till idag. Dessutom diskuteras och problematiseras litteraturhistorieskrivningars nationsskapande och kanonformerande funktion utifrån aspekter som genus, klass och etnicitet. I kursen relateras det teoretiska innehållet till didaktiska och metodiska konsekvenser och tillämpningar i skolan. Ett jämställdhets-, genus- klass- och etnicitetsperspektiv anläggs genomgående i kursen.
