About the course
Aim
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
Knowledge and understanding- identify risks and design their own individual risk-analysis document for the placement abroad
Competence and skills- demonstrate the ability to use ICT support in their own learning process
Judgement and approach- reflect on people’s different living conditions in a globalised world, in relation to intersectionality, rights and sustainable development- reflect on cultural encounters in relation to ethical and intersectional perspectives- describe and reflect on their own learning process and their own approach
Content
The course is aimed at students doing teaching practice, studying, doing a practice period, engaged in Minor Field Studies, etc., in order for them to gain knowledge and an understanding on how education can be organised, planned, carried out and evaluated in a country other than Sweden. The course deals with people’s living conditions and cultural encounters in a globalised world in relation to both duty-based ethical perspectives and consequentialist-ethical perspectives. The course also brings up responsibility, risks and safety aspects when staying in an alien environment, and it includes the designing of students’ own risk-analysis documents. In addition, the personal experiences become more nuanced, and the student’s own approach as well as their own learning process are reflected upon.
