Aim
Kunskap och förståelse
Efter avslutad kurs förväntas studenten kunna:
- självständigt identifiera ett vetenskapligt problemområde som leder till kunskapstillskott inom huvudområdet
- värdera och syntetisera aktuell kunskap och pågående forskning inom valt forskningsområde
Färdighet och förmåga
Efter avslutad kurs förväntas studenten kunna:
- självständigt planera och genomföra ett examensarbete inom givna tidsramar
- formulera vetenskapliga hypoteser och frågeställningar
- välja begrepp och tillämpa en teori/modell och kunna motivera och argumentera för valet
- tillämpa en forskningsmetod, genomföra en fördjupad analys och sammanställa ett resultat med logisk struktur i relation till syftet
- redogöra muntligt och skriftligt för sina resultat och på en fördjupad nivå diskutera dessa i relation till aktuell forskning
- formulera en populärvetenskaplig sammanfattning av examensarbetet och kommunicera muntligt och skriftligt till grupper som inte är bekanta med forskningsfältet
Värderingsförmåga och förhållningssätt
Efter avslutad kurs förväntas studenten kunna:
- kritiskt granska, värdera och diskutera det egna och andras examensarbeten
- visa insikt om etiska principer och kunna reflektera över dessa i relation till det egna examensarbetet
- använda ett forskningsetiskt förhållningssätt under planering, genomförande och framskrivande av examensarbetet

Content
Kursen utgör det självständiga arbete som krävs för masterexamen i fysioterapi.
Examensarbetet ska fokusera på en problematik med inriktning mot medicinsk vetenskap som motiverar forskning inom huvudområdet. Kursens huvudsakliga innehåll är fördjupad tillämpning av medicinsk vetenskapsteori, etik, statistik och forskningsmetodik, genomförande och skriftlig framställan av ett självständigt arbete med relevans för huvudområdet fysioterapi.
