About the course
Aim
On completion of the course, the student should be able to - work as an orchestral musician in amateur orchestras at a high artistic level, - demonstrate experience in playing in different types of ensembles, - use knowledge of the different styles of music and code of practice of different epochs, - demonstrate increased understanding of the conditions and functions of music in different epochs and environments.
Content
During four semesters (7.5 HE credits/semester,), music is studied from different epochs, for example music from the Baroque, First Viennese School, Romanticism and the 20th century. Parts of music communication, code of practice, music history and music sociology will also be included.
