About the course

Aim

Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:

visa grundläggande kunskaper om individens utveckling, beteende och sociala relationer
tillämpa centrala begrepp inom psykologi, socialpsykologi och sociologi i relation till socialt arbete
analysera grupper och individers handlande utifrån samhälls- och beteendevetenskapliga teorier
använda samhällsvetenskapliga teorier för att förstå sociala strukturer och processer
tillämpa sociologiska och beteendevetenskapliga perspektiv i förståelsen av sociala problem
reflektera över samhälls- och beteendevetenskapliga teorier för att identifiera och förstå mönster i mångfald och ojämlikhet

Content

I kursen presenteras centrala teorier och begrepp inom psykologi, socialpsykologi och sociologi i relation till sociala problem på mikro-, meso- och makronivå. I kursen ingår att analysera individer och samhälle ur olika perspektiv. Utifrån psykologiska teorier fokuseras teoretiskt individens utveckling. I kursen behandlas samhälls- och beteendevetenskapliga teorier med fokus på sociala strukturer och processer av betydelse för människor i socialt utsatta positioner. Utifrån samhällsvetenskaplig teoribildning ges i kursen en introduktion till nutidens globala samhälle och dess mönster av mångfald och ojämlikhet. Vidare studeras teorier om grupper, grupprocesser, identitetsskapande, individens utveckling, kognition och personlighet samt emotioner, makt och maktstrukturer med utgångspunkt i socialt arbete och dess praktik.
