About the course

Aim

Efter avslutad kurs skall den studerande kunna

reflektera över hur normalitet och avvikelse förstås i olika vetenskapliga traditioner
formulera teoretiskt grundade problem med relevans för området normalitet och avvikelse
planera och genomföra gruppintervjuer
reflektera över hur olika kvalitativa analysmetoder tillämpas
reflektera över etiska frågor i relation till den egna forskningsprocessen och val av studieobjekt.

Content

Kursen introducerar hur normalitet och avvikelse diskuteras i olika vetenskapliga traditioner och konstrueras i olika sociala sammanhang. Fokus ligger vid individ-, grupp- och samhällsnivå. Normalitet och avvikelse diskuteras i relation till olika sociala kategoriseringar såsom genus, etnicitet, klass, sexualitet, ålder och funktionalitet. Kursen fördjupar även etnografiska metoder samt forskningsetiska frågeställningar.
