About the course
Aim
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- apply central concepts and theories of ethics
- account for different views how one discusses ethical questions
- demonstrate an advanced understanding of problems of ethical nature in the current debate
- process ethical questions.
Content
The course begins with an overview of the theories and methods of ethics. Central concepts such as human dignity, view on man, autonomy, justice and responsibility are covered. The students will thereafter cover an elective ethical problem; preferably within applied ethics in the form of a paper that should form the basis for seminar discussion.
