About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:
- redogöra för fankulturers historiska utveckling
- tillämpa centrala teorier och begrepp inom forskningsfältet fandom och fankulturer
- analysera olika praktiker och mediala uttryck inom en specifik fandom
- analysera fanfiction och dess relation till olika källtexter
- granska fanfictiontexter i förhållande till estetiska och genremässiga avvägningar
Content
I kursen ges en introduktion till fandom som en samtida kulturell praktik i relation till olika medieformat. Några historiska nedslag i utvecklingen av fandompraktiker görs och en begreppsapparat och teoretisk ram behandlas. Med utgångspunkt i berättelser som har fått ett stort gensvar bland fans analyseras hur dessa ifrågasätts, omvandlas och utvecklas i olika sociala och mediala sammanhang och i relation till olika källtexter. I kursen undersöks olika fandompraktiker med tonvikt på skriftliga omskapningar av berättelser. Även andra mediala och konstnärliga uttryck studeras. Olika fanfictionpraktiker undersöks och omsätts i praktiska, kreativa inslag.
