About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:
- förstå och sammanfatta akademiska texter skrivna på engelska;
- på skriven engelska formulera egna akademiska texter där grundläggande krav är uppfyllda med avseende på form, innehåll, grammatiska strukturer samt ett formellt och akademiskt engelskt ordförråd;
- att hantera formalia i användandet av sekundärlitteratur, inklusive korrekt tillämpa akademiska referenssystem;
- ge en muntlig presentation på engelska
Content
I kursen görs en systematisk genomgång av hur man skriver olika slags akademiska texter på engelska med fokus på argumentation, struktur, vokabulär och referenshantering. Analys av akademiska texter och produktion av akademisk text står i fokus, men det finns även inslag av muntlig presentationsteknik
