About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:
- redogöra för olika vetenskapliga traditioner, metodologier och vetenskapsteoretiska begrepp
- redogöra för och kritiskt granska vetenskapsteorier och metoder
- självständigt urskilja, formulera och värdera olika vetenskapliga kunskapssyner
- redogöra för planeringsforskning/planeringsteori utifrån ett vetenskapligt perspektiv
- tillämpa och självständigt arbeta med olika metoder för insamling och analys av material
- förhålla sig till etiska aspekter inom forskning
Content
Kursen behandlar grundläggande kvalitativa och kvantitativa metoder för insamling, bearbetning och presentation av material såväl som olika kunskapssyner. En central del av kursen bygger på att få en grundläggande kunskap om för samhällsplanerarprofessionen samt för den vetenskapliga arbeten viktiga metoder och vetenskapliga kunskapssyner. Metoderna och vetenskapsteorierna beskrivs och tillämpas på en översiktlig nivå. Etiska aspekter inom forskning behandlas på en översiktlig nivå.
