About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:
- identifiera nutida utmaningar för städer, naturområden och landsbygd utifrån naturvetenskapliga och samhällsvetenskapliga perspektiv
- beskriva hur avvägningar mellan natur-, kultur- och sociala värden kan göras
- kritiskt reflektera över möjligheter och praktiker för att i samhällsplaneringen hantera olika utmaningar för städer, naturområden och landsbygd
- skriftligt och muntligt kunna kommunicera vetenskaplig kunskap med akribi.
Content
Kursen behandlar naturvetenskaplig och samhällsvetenskaplig forskning om städer, naturområden och landsbygd där en rad utmaningar både på kortare och längre sikt identifierats. I kursen introduceras olika nutida problemområden som städer, naturområden och landsbygd möter, såsom hantering av naturresurser, klimatförändringar, inkludering och jämställdhet samt hur samhällsplanering i bred bemärkelse kan hantera dessa problemområden. Empiriska exempel med utgångspunkt i både naturvetenskaplig och samhällsvetenskaplig forskning används för att kritiskt reflektera över möjligheter och praktiker om hur samhällsplaneringen kan hantera olika samhällsutmaningar. I kursen ingår även att skriftligt och muntligt kommunicera vetenskaplig kunskap med akribi.
