Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:
- beskriva och diskutera den tillämpade språkvetenskapens innebörd, problem och möjligheter
- redogöra för grundläggande vetenskapsteoretiska begrepp med relevans för ett vetenskapligt arbete
- beskriva och tillämpa metoder för insamling och analys av data i syfte att besvara språkvetenskapliga frågeställningar
- argumentera för och emot val av metoder för att besvara en specifik språkvetenskaplig frågeställning

Delkurs 1. Introduktion till tillämpad språkvetenskap 7,5 hp
I delkursen introduceras begreppet tillämpad språkvetenskap med fokus på metoder och frågeställningar. I delkursen granskas språkvetenskapliga studier samt diskuteras hur språkvetenskapliga kunskaper kan vara relevanta i ett samhällsperspektiv.
Delkurs 2. Språkvetenskaplig teori och metod 7,5 hp
I delkursen ges en teoretisk grund för arbete med olika språkvetenskapliga undersökningar. I delkursen diskuteras grundläggande vetenskapsteoretiska begrepp. Dessutom behandlas insamlings- och analysmetoder som kan besvara språkvetenskapliga frågeställningar av olika karaktär. I delkursen ges även möjlighet att tillämpa metoder som kan komma till användning i uppsatsarbetet.
