About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:
- redogöra för huvuddragen i filosofins historia, från antiken till idag
- analysera centrala skolbildningar och tankegångar inom filosofins historia
- kritiskt diskutera olika tolkningar av centrala tankegångar i filosofins historia
- i tal och skrift redogöra för tankegångar och teorier i ett urval av verk ur filosofins historia.
Content
Ett studie av filosofins historia ger oss en ökad förståelse för hur och varför filosofin har utvecklats till det den är idag. I kursen behandlas filosofins historia, med hjälp av både handböcker och originalmaterial. Stoffet får dels en regelrätt historisk behandling, dels tematiseras allmänna filosofiska frågor varvid materialet tjänar som exempel i teorijämförelser. I delkursen ingår att tolka argument från filosofihistoriens centralgestalter och föra diskussion vidare utifrån dessa tolkningar.
