About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:
- kritiskt diskutera teoretiska perspektiv av relevans för ämnesområdet globala studier av kultur och samhälle
- tillämpa ett kritiskt, vetenskapligt förhållningssätt till information och informationssökning
- tillämpa vetenskapliga metoder av relevans för ämnesområdet globala studier av kultur och samhälle
Content
I kursen behandlas teoretiska och metodologiska perspektiv inom ämnesområdet globala studier av kultur och samhälle. Detta innefattar ett brett spektrum av kultur- och samhällsvetenskapliga teorier och metoder för att förstå och analysera kulturella och sociala praktiker och uttryck, så som exempelvis etnografiska metoder samt olika metoder för att tolka texter, konstnärliga gestaltningar och medier. I kursen ingår att kritiskt granska och diskutera teoretiska perspektiv samt att tillämpa olika forskningsmetoder. I kursen presenteras även ett vetenskapligt perspektiv på hur problem kan formuleras med anknytning till valt teoretiskt perspektiv, och på vilka de teoretiska överväganden som måste göras före och under en vetenskaplig studie.
