About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande på spanska kunna:
- muntlig och skriftligt redogöra för Latinamerikas kultur och historia
- förklara samhällsutveckling och samhällsstruktur i Latinamerika
- diskutera likheter och skillnader i levnadsförhållanden och umgängesformer i Sverige och Latinamerika
- analysera och diskutera frågor som rör genus, etnicitet och klass i nutida latinamerikansk kontext
- analysera och diskutera demokrati, mänskliga rättigheter och globalisering i nutida Latinamerika
- uppvisa ett stort och varierat receptivt och produktivt spanskt ordförråd kopplat till ämnet
- inom givna tidsramar studera och söka information som kan förklara förändringsprocesser i Latinamerika
Content
I kursen behandlas Latinamerikas historia, ekonomi och kultur utifrån ett globalt perspektiv. Detta med särskild hänsyn till genus, etnicitet och samhällsliv. Speciell vikt ges till förändringar som skett i Latinamerika under de senaste decennierna i förhållande till omvärlden, med andra ord belyses hur förbindelsen med andra delar av världen har påverkat Latinamerika. I kursen tas även upp hur politiska rörelser i regionen har tagit sig an frågor om makt, ojämlikheter och förändringar samt de utmaningar som Latinamerika idag står inför beträffande upprätthållandet av de mänskliga rättigheterna. Språkets användning i olika kommunikativa sammanhang genomsyrar kursen.
