About the course
Aim
After the course the student should:
- be able to understand, analyze and evaluate stability, accuracy and performance of simulation of dynamic systems
- be able to create and simulate models of simple mechatronic systems, both graphically and by using equation-based modelling languages
- be able to connect and simulate coupled models from different simulation tools
- recognize and be able to describe commonly used standards for simulation and modelling
- have knowledge of transmission line modelling (TLM) and understand its applications within the field of modelling and simulation
Content
The course aims to give knowledge in mathematical modelling of mechatronic systems and numerical methods for simulation of dynamic models. The course will also introduce common standards for modelling and simulation and provide insight in the use of modelling and simulation in development of mechatronic systems.
- Modelling: Object-oriented modelling, equation-based languages, graphical modelling, validation & verification, credibility assessment, predictive capability, sensitivity analysis, hybrid models, transmission line modelling
- Simulation technology: Numerical methods, performance, stability, accuracy, co-simulation, real-time simulation, in-the-loop simulation, simulation standards
