About the course
Aim
In this course, a number of important and emerging advanced materials and material technologies will be presented. The main aims are to broaden the students’ knowledge in advanced engineering materials to increase their understanding of how development in this field can contribute to a more efficient use of natural resources and power production. After completing the course, the students should be able to:
- Analyze principles, process characteristics, applications and environmental impact of powder-based technologies for more resource-effective manufacturing.
- Analyze properties, inner structure, manufacturing processes and applications of materials for effective and sustainable energy production.
- Analyze properties, inner structure and applications light-weight structural materials and functional materials for sustainable vehicles.
