About the course
Aim
After completing the course, the student should be able to
- choose and apply solution methods to problems in both parts of the course A and B, which are described in the course content.
- report and justify solutions to tasks within the course content with using relevant concepts and clear reasoning.
Content
Part A: Vector Geometry and Vector Spaces
Systems of linear equations. Geometric vectors. Lines and planes. Matrix algebra. Vector spaces. Euclidean spaces. ON bases. Orthogonal projection. The least squares method.
Part B: Linear mappings and spectral theory
Determinants. Linear mappings. Base changes. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Symmetric and isometric representations. Square shapes. Systems of differential and difference equations.
