About the course

Aim

On completion of the course, the student should be able to: - independently plan and carry out an experimental work in two and three dimensions, - develop product ideas in different techniques and materials, aesthetically, physically and chemically - describe the relationship between the own idiom and technical implementation, - visualise and communicate product ideas, virtually and in reality - be familiar with and account for concepts in design and colouring, - present, describe, analyse and make quality assessments of the own work and the work of others, - apply a scholarly approach to the process and products of the creative work.

Content

The course contains practical and experimental work with different techniques and materials. The student experiments with colours, shapes, designs, surfaces/structures, volumes, functions, techniques and materials in different applications. The student selects which techniques and materials to include. Analyses, written documentations and presentations are included on the basis of a chosen subject area. Also included is research methodology with a focus on handicraft and its processes. The course also covers the exhibition as a medium for communication. The exhibition as a meeting with audiences and activities is highlighted and examined. The course includes presentation techniques that give the students the opportunity to reflect on how one's own knowledge can be translated into future products.
