About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande på avancerad nivå kunna:
- analysera metodologiska frågeställningar, empiriska fynd och teorier inom neurovetenskap med ett kritiskt förhållningssätt
- beskriva och förklara neurologiska, neuro/psykiatriska och geriatriska sjukdomstillstånd, skador och funktionsnedsättningar samt relatera till neurokognitiva funktioner
- analysera och föreslå relevant neuropsykologisk utredning, behandling samt intervention avseende neurologiska, neuro/psykiatriska och geriatriska sjukdomstillstånd och neuropsykologiska funktionsnedsättningar
- tillämpa neuropsykologisk kunskap i mötet med klienter och patienter
- genomföra neuropsykologisk testning, tolka testresultat samt återge utredningsresultat
- diskutera neuropsykologens roll i multidisciplinära team
Content
I kursen behandlas neuropsykologi utifrån ett utrednings- och behandlingsperspektiv innefattande olika former av neurologiska sjukdomar eller skador samt hur dessa kan utredas och behandlas
En fördjupad bild av neuropsykologens yrkesroll ges, inklusive praktisk övning i neuropsykologisk testning med aktuella neuropsykologiska tester. Neuropsykologisk tolkning samt återgivning av testresultat till klienter och patienter ingår i kursen.
I kursen behandlas neurologiska, neuro/psykiatriska och geriatriska sjukdomstillstånd, skador och funktionsnedsättningar. Vidare behandlas hur specifika neuropsykologiska nedsättningar är kopplade till dessa tillstånd och vilka konsekvenser olika avvikelser kan ge.
Etiskt förhållningssätt och hållbar utveckling appliceras under alla delar i kursen.
